A watch shaped to stand out. The Marie collection pays direct homage to an illustrious French woman, Marie Curie, a physicist and chemist who worked on radioactivity.
This quartz watch features a black dial covered with luminescent material at the hour markers and on its single hand. The stainless steel case covered with PVD gold measures 34mm x 34mm. The day and date are present at 3 o'clock.

GUSTAVE & CIE watches have only one hand that indicates the hours and minutes simultaneously. On our 12-hour collections, the hand goes around the dial twice during the day.
Each index of the Marie watch represents 10 minutes. A new way to read the time, French time.
Always on time, on the day and on the date
The date display on the right of the dial quickly indicates the day and date. Stylized in the format of the periodic table of elements, it once again recalls the universe and the discoveries of Marie Curie.
ASSEMBLIES IN FRANCE
The design of the dials, the choice of materials, colors, and mechanism are all made in Paris.
Our watches are entirely assembled in France, in Besançon. The mechanism is Swiss or Japanese depending on the model and always selected for its quality.
As for the final assembly, case/bracelet, it is ensured by the GUSTAVE & CIE team at the same time as quality control.
SUPER-LUMINOVA DIAL
In 1898, while conducting research on radioactivity, Pierre and Marie Curie discovered a new chemical element in a uranium ore: "Radium".
It was used until the 1950s in watchmaking for its luminescent properties. Thanks to a special paint, watch hands became visible in the dark.
Today, Super-LumiNova has replaced this technique which was dangerous for health.
In homage to this discovery, when your watch is plunged into darkness, reading the time is simplified by an illuminated dial at the level of the hour markers and its hand.

Our batteries have an average life of about 2 years. You can have the battery changed at any jeweler/watchmaker.
For GUSTAVE et cie, there is no "ideal" watch size. However, if your wrist measures less than 15cm, it is strongly recommended to go for a 36mm case. Conversely, if your wrist measures more than 18cm, we recommend a 40mm case.
